Baseball/Softball

Several parks have baseball or softball fields. In most cases they are reserved for league games. Contact the County Sports Office to reserve adult-size baseball fields or softball fields. If a field isn't scheduled for a league game then it is available for public use on a first come, first serve basis. Contact the Parks Office for league schedule information.

  • A beautiful, large community park with many trees and many amenities. There is a large statue of a bear in the park.

  • A large regional park with a pavilion situated on a knoll. There is a large multipurpose grassy area and many amenities.

  • A large, beautiful neighborhood park with pavilions and amenities and both the east and west side of the park.

  • A large, older community park with multi-purpose use green space, 2 pavilions, tennis courts, basketball and a skatepark.

5800 South Cougar Lane (4800 West), Kearns Township

  • One of the County's largest community parks with 5 baseball diamonds, two regulation size soccer fields and the new Kearns Skate/BMX Park. Park also has a large grass area that slopes from the west to east and from the baseball fields to the soccer fields.  A third soccer field is under construction.

2100 South from 1350 East to 1600 East, Salt Lake City

  • A beautiful, large regional park with many amenities, including 7 reservable pavilions, 2 playgrounds, a pond & creek, trees and open spaces. The park is managed by the Sugar House Park Authority. Go to their web site for more park information.
  • 110.51 acres.

Pavilion Amenities

  • Pavilion - 7 covered pavilions, each with at least 2 BBQ grills, lighting and electrical outlets. For more pavilion information go to Sugar House Park and look under "Reservations" and "Pavilion Rentals."
  • Electricity -- All pavilions have outlets.
  • Lighting -- All pavilions.
  • Horseshoe Courts -- 4 sand and grass pits located at Sugar Beet Pavilion and 4 lighted sand and grass pits at the Hidden Grove Pavilion. Horseshoes may be rented from the Parks office.

  • Volleyball -- Each pavilion has a concrete court. The Fabian Lakeside, Big Field and Parley's Creek pavilions have oversized, 50'x70' courts. Volleyball equipment may be rented from our office.

  • Baseball/Softball Fields - Highland High's baseball field is located just west of the Mt. Olympus Pavilion. It may be reserved or used for recreational purposes on a drop-in basis.

  • Playground -- 2 in the park. The larger is located in the main part of the park near the Parley's Creek pavilion. The smaller is located near the Sugar Beet pavilion.

  • Soccer -- A large area located north of the Big Field pavilion (no goals.)  It may be reserved or used for recreational purposes on a drop-in basis. There are other open areas throughout the park that may be reserved or used for recreational use.

  • Drinking Fountain -- Located adjacent to each restroom and near the Sego Lily Pavilion.
  • Walkways/Jogging Paths -- 1.5 miles around the asphalt inner loop. 1.87 miles around the edge of the park on the jogging path.

Tanner

2760 South (Heritage Way) 2695 East, Salt Lake City

  • A community park with several amenities, including 2 pavilions and is adjacent to the Parley's Nature Park, which is managed by Salt Lake City.
  • 9.75 acres.
