Locations
Salt Lake County maintains over 70 parks throughout the valley. You may find a park by viewing the locations map to see its location in the valley, or you may find a park by its address listed below.
Below is a list of each county park. You may click on most park names to get detailed information about that park. If you are looking for a park with a specific amenity then you may choose to click on one at the left side of this page and only those parks with that amenity will be listed.
Each park is categorized into the following types:
- Neighborhood -- serve residents within a mile of the park. They have an informal, casual atmosphere and may include amenities such as playground areas, tennis courts, etc.
- Community -- serve community planning areas within a radius of 2 miles of park boundaries. They provide opportunities for passive and active recreation such as picnic pavilions, sports courts, swimming pools, recreation centers, ball diamonds, etc.
- Regional -- are large developed or natural open spaces that serve all of Salt Lake County.
- Special Interest -- provide a specific service or have unique features.
- Undeveloped -- have no amenities.
- Trailhead -- are parks or small areas that provide access to a larger trail system or natural area.
If "(reservable)" is next to the park name then it is a park with a reservable pavilion.

Bennion

- A medium sized, neighborhood retention basin with a playground and sleigh riding hill.
Big Bear (reservable)

- A beautiful, large community park with many trees and many amenities. There is a large statue of a bear in the park.
Big Cottonwood East
- 4500 South 1500 East, Millcreek Township
- A large regional park with a big natural area, water feature and amenities.
Big Cottonwood Regional (reservable)

- A large regional park with a pavilion situated on a knoll. There is a large multipurpose grassy area and many amenities.
Bonneville Trailhead

- A community park with many mature trees and a disc golf course running through it.
Crestwood (reservable)

- A large community park with outdoor pool and many amenities including a large natural area with walking path.
David Gourley (reservable)

- A popular community park with many amenities, including playground and rolling, hilly green space.
Decker Lake
- South Parkway Blvd. (2800 South) 2300 West, West Valley City
- A large pond surrounded by a jogging path. Along with the pond is a large nature preserve.
Dimple Dell Regional

- A large regional, natural area with several horse trails, hiking trails and other amenities such as an amphitheatre and restrooms.
Elk Run Village

- A small neighborhood park with a rolling grass area and playground.
Equestrian Park

Evergreen
- 3425 South (Evergreen Ave.) 2230 East, Millcreek Township
- Construction of new East Millcreek Community Center, library and senior center was completed in 2012. Evergreen Park is now open for the 2013 season with a new pavilion and playground.
Fort Union Plaza
- 7220 South 1250 East, Midvale
- A small park in the middle of a shopping area
Fortuna

- A small neighborhood park with few amenities
Forty-eighth (48th) Street Trailhead
- 4800 South 800 West, Murray
- A trailhead with some picnic tables and benches. Adjacent to the Jordan River Parkway.

- A trailhead park to the Dimple Dell Regional Park. The park has a pavilion, playground and many other amenities.
Hang Gliding Park

- A large area on the point of the mountain with two launch areas for hang gliders.
Harmony (reservable)

- A shady community park with many amenities and 2 regulation softball fields.
Hercules

Hillsdale

- A trailhead park to the Jordan River Parkway. The park has a pavilion, playground and picnic tables. There is also a nature trail.

Jordan Narrows

- A trailhead to the Jordan River Parkway. There are no amenities. Parking lot has 35 stalls.

Jordan River Parkway
- from the Utah County line to the Great Salt Lake.,
- A trail that parallels the Jordan River. Salt Lake County maintains the following adjacent trailheads: Jordan Narrows, Springview Farms, Forty-Eighth (48th) Street, Holm, Oxbow, Redwood Park and Jordan River Trailhead.
Jordan River Trailhead (reservable)

- A popular trailhead park on the Jordan River Parkway located on the west side of the river.

Magna Mini Parks

- Three small pieces of land with flagpoles, art sculptures and horseshoe courts.
Magna-Copper (East End)

- A large, older community park with multi-purpose use green space, 2 pavilions, tennis courts, basketball and a skatepark.

- Mill Creek Canyon is managed by the U.S. Forest Service . There are 10 picnic group sites that may be reserved for daytime use during the summer and a mountain yurt during the winter.

Mountain Man

- A large retention basin with a flat grassy area big enough for football, soccer, tee- ball, etc.
North Park
- 5600 South 5255 West (Impressions Drive), Kearns Township
- Medium sized neighborhood park with a playground and a large sloping grass area.
Olympus Hills
- 4500 South 3131 East (Stratton Ave.), Millcreek Township
- A large community park with many amenities including, a water feature, natural area, jogging paths, baseball fields, play area and tennis courts.
Oquirrh
- 5800 South 4800 West (Cougar Lane), Kearns Township
- One of the County's largest community parks with 5 baseball diamonds, two regulation size soccer fields and the Kearns Skate/BMX Park. Park slopes from the west to east and from the baseball fields to the soccer fields.
Oquirrh Highlands
- 6810 South (Denman Avenue) 6220 West (High Bluff Drive), West Jordan
- A large neighborhood park with pavilion, playground, grassy area and amenities.
Oxbow
- 3300 South 1100 West, South Salt Lake
- A trailhead park to the Jordan River Parkway. The park has a restroom and some picnic tables.
Parkridge Trailhead
- 7355 South to 7465 South (Parkridge Dr.) 1682 East, Cottonwood Heights
- A trailhead to the natural area of Crestwood Park.
Pleasant Green (reservable)
- 3250 South 8400 West, Magna Township
- A large community park that is adjacent to the Magna Fitness and Recreation Center and Pool. The park has many amenities, including a large green space.
Rad Canyon -- BMX
- 9738 South 5200 West (off Old Bingham Highway), Unincorporated
- A top of the line BMX park with two different tracks.
Redwood Nature Area
- 2660 South 1160 West, West Valley City
- A unique loop trail over a mile long that connects the Jordan River Parkway trail with the Redwood Multipurpose Center and West Valley City.

Riverview (reservable)

- A beautiful, shady community park with many amenities.
Scott Avenue

- A small community park with a pond.
Skyview Basin

- A large retention basin with a small grove of trees located in the southeast corner. No amenities.
South Cottonwood Regional Park
- 6351 South 900 East, Murray
- A large regional park that includes the Wheeler Historic Farm. The park is managed by Wheeler Historic Farm.
South Mountain (reservable)
- 14300 South (Vestry Road) 657 East, Draper
- A community park adjacent to the County-owned Draper Pool. Pool is located near the pavilion. Park has a large grassy area.
South Park
- 6134 South 5220 West, Kearns Township
- A neighborhood park with a large grass area and playground.
Southridge
- 5051 South 4015 West, Taylorsville
- One of the larger community parks with a wide range of amenities including: five baseball fields, basketball courts, volleyball, cricket, soccer and rugby fields.
Spring View Farms
- 14600 South 1150 West, Bluffdale
- A trailhead to the Jordan River Parkway. Park has no amenities.
Sugar House
- 2100 South from 1350 East to 1600 East, Salt Lake City
- A beautiful, large regional park with many amenities, including 7 reservable pavilions, 2 playgrounds, a pond & creek, trees and open spaces. The park is managed by the Sugar House Park Authority. Go to the Sugar House Park web site for more park information.
Tanner (reservable)
- 2760 South (Heritage Way) 2695 East, Salt Lake City
- A community park with several amenities, including 2 pavilions and is adjacent to the Parley's Nature Park, which is managed by Salt Lake City.
Taylorsville (North End)

- A large, older community park with many trees, amenities and an open grassy area. A reservable pavilion and a skateboard park are located at the south end.
Taylorsville (South End) (reservable)

- A large, older community park with many trees and amenities, including a skateboard park, a reservable pavilion and a large, open grassy area.
Union (reservable)

- A large grass area with a walking path and other amenities. Adjacent to little league fields used by the City of Taylorsville and adjacent to the County's softball complex.

Welcker Memorial

- A long narrow strip of grass that runs along 4700 South. Amenities include basketball and volleyball courts, drinking fountains and concrete walkway.
West Jordan Off-Leash Dog Park
- New Bingham Highway 5982 West, West Jordan
- Adjacent to the West Jordan Animal Shelter and Ron Wood Park, this is a fully enclosed park for dogs to be off-leash. The park is separated into three areas: one for small dogs and the other two for larger dogs.
Western Springs (reservable)

- A large community park with many amenities, including a water playground.
Wheeler Historic Farm
